Verbena officinalis (Vervain)

ACTION

Tonic, Mild bitter, Nervine, Stimulates bile secretion, Mild sedative.

Vervain protects against the formation of kidney stones (Grases, F. et al. 1994).

A tonic for the digestive system. Its bitter principle stimulates digestion. Vervain is also known to aid absorption.

Tannins, Volatile oils, Bitter iridoids (verbenin, verbenalin), Alkaloids, Mucilage, Flavonoids (Luteolin 7-diglucuronide).
