BLESSED THISTLE

Blessed thistle consists of the leaves and flowering tops of Cnicus benedictus L.
(Family: Compositae)

ACTION: Cnicin is bitter, anti-inflammatory and antibiotic.

INDICATION: Anorexia. Flatulent dyspepsia. Bronchial catarrh.
Topical: Gangrenous and indolent ulcers.

Preparation & Dosage: 1-3g of dried herb by infusion.
Liquid extract - 1:1 in 25% alcohol. Dose: 1-3ml.

KEY CONSTITUENTS: Cnicin, a bitter diterpenoid lactone. Mucilage. Flavonoids. Volatile oil. Alkaloids. Tannins. Nicotinic acid. Resin.
